The 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship is the 14th edition of the tournament which is sponsored by Rady’s Children’s Hospital. It is scheduled in San Diego, California, USA, from June 21 to July 1. The tournament includes 30 teams contending for the sport’s top prize – 20 of which qualified through the sport’s first-ever set of continental qualifications during the last two years.
The tournament will be held in the United States for the fourth time. Over the course of the 11-day competition, more than 100 games will be played, beginning on June 21 with a match between the US team and its North American opponent, Canada, at Snapdragon Stadium.
The A pool is made up of the top five seeded teams: the United States, Canada, the Haudenosaunee, England, and Australia. The remaining teams were divided into pools B-F based on their results in continental qualifications, ensuring that each group had representation from at least three continents.
From June 21 to June 26, the six pools will participate in a round-robin format. The top two A pool teams will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the remaining three A pool teams will compete in the first round of the playoffs on June 27 with the top nine teams from pools B-F (five first-place finishers and four second-place finishers) to determine the remaining teams in the quarterfinals, which begin on June 28.
