Varun scored again at the end of the second quarter to put the home team up 6-2. Mandeep deflected a dragflick in the third quarter, giving India a 7-2 advantage. India had a few more chances in the fourth quarter, but some good waves stops by China’s custodian saw the game conclude 7-2.
India’s performance in the tournament’s opening match demonstrated their strength and commitment. The squad has set a high benchmark for future matches with such a convincing performance.
