Historic Triumph: India’s Unbeatable Run at BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships

The Indian badminton team extended their winning streak at the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships with a 5-0 victory over Brazil on Wednesday.

On the second day of the famous tournament, the Indian shuttlers were remarkable. In the first match, Samarveer and Radhika Sharma won 21-14, 21-17 over Joaquim Mendonca and Maria Clara Lopes Lima in mixed doubles.

Lokesh Reddy Kalagotla had a strong opponent in Renan Melo in the boys’ singles competition, losing the opening game 17-21 but fighting back valiantly in the second.

Lokesh had the upper hand and eventually won the second game 24-22 to seal the match. Meanwhile, Devika Sihag won the girls’ singles division by beating Maria Eduarda Oliveira 21-9, 21-6 in just 18 minutes.

With a score of 21-19, 21-10, Divyam Arora and Mayank Rana defeated Joaquim and Joao Mendonca Taveira in the boys’ doubles.

Vennala Kalagotla and Shriyanshi Valishetty demonstrated superb teamwork their route to a 21-13, 21-11 victory over Maria Clara and Maria Eduarda Oliveira in the girls’ doubles.

Later in the day, India, the group D leader, will meet Germany, the group’s runner-up.

The winner of this match will be crowned group champion. The winning team will meet the winner of Group C in the quarter-finals on September 28.
