Indian Para Badminton Team Bags 42 Medals at Uganda Tournament

India won 42 medals in the Para-Badminton International 2023, including 13 golds, 12 silvers, and 17 bronzes. The event took place in Kampala, Uganda, from July 4 to July 9.

The seeded Indians in the competition were Premkumar Ezhil, Dinesh Rajaiah, Naveen Sivakumar, Abhijeet Sakhuja, Subhrajeet Maharana, Dev Rathi, Sanjeev Kumar, Amudha Saravanan, Palak Kohli, Thulasimathi Murugesan, and Alphia James.

Premkumar Ezhil is placed sixth in the MD WH1-WH2 category. He began his campaign by overcoming Kabuye Papias Bagara 21-12, 21-11, and then Yeh En-Chuan 21-10, 21-9.

Following that, he defeated his countryman Basavaraju HS 21-6, 21-13. Overall, the Indian contingent at the event had a strong showing.
