Anahat Singh was a standout in India’s strong showing in the 30th Asian Squash Junior Individual Championships 2023 in China. The Indian team won four medals, including one gold and three bronze, to take first place in the Championships. Anahat, a 15-year-old prodigy, defeated Hong Kong’s Kwong Ena 3-1 in the final to become the country’s second and first female U-17 squash champion.

Throughout the competition, the Delhi girl, who will represent India at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, was the embodiment of talent and determination. Anahat easily outplayed her opponents at every level, establishing supremacy throughout the competition.

Her path to the victory featured victories against difficult opponents such as Malaysia’s Doyce Lee in the quarterfinals and Malaysia’s Whitney Isabelle Wilson in the semifinals, giving her a well-deserved position in the championship match. India won three bronze medals in addition to the gold medal. Shaurya Bawa finished third in the Boys U19 division, while Pooja Arthi finished third in the Girls U19 segment. Aryaveer Singh won bronze in the Boys U15 division.
