India’s Gymnastics Sensation: Pranati Nayak’s Triumph at FIG World Challenge Cup 2023

Pranati Nayak of the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (GHPC) in Bhubaneswar won bronze in the Federation Internationale De Gymnastique (FIG) World Challenge Cup 2023 in Szombathely, Hungary. GHPC’s Rakesh Patra finished fourth in the tournament.

Pranati Nayak, who competed in the Women’s Vault event, brought home a bronze medal with a score of 12.966 points. Her first vault was worth 13.066. The second vault brought in $12,866. Pranati placed fifth in the qualification round with a score of 12.850.

Rakesh Patra finished fourth in the Rings event, just missing out on a medal. Rakesh finished fifth in the qualification round with a score of 13.600. In the finals, he increased his score to 13.733, but came just short of the podium.

Pranati and Rakesh’s performances at the FIG World Challenge Cup 2023 have provided a big boost to Indian gymnastics. Their performances have not only made the country proud, but have also established a pattern for rising talent in the country. Many nations praised Indian gymnasts’ accomplishments on the European circuit.
