Minerva’s Sensational Win Paves the Way to Quarterfinals

Thiyam scored for Minerva in the 27th minute of the pre-quarterfinals versus Onnereds IK, while Oliver scored the opening goal for the Swedish club soon after. The Indian club finished the first half with a 3-1 score.

Minerva Academy FC defeated Swedish team Onnereds IK by a score of 10-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Gothia Cup, which is being hosted in Gotherburg, Sweden.

Minerva had previously defeated AFC Eskillstuna 5-0 in the knockout round.

Thiyam scored for Minerva in the 27th minute of the pre-quarterfinals versus Onnereds IK, while Oliver scored the opening goal for the Swedish club soon after. The first half finished with the Indian club leading 3-1.

Azlaan Shah scored for Minerva early in the second half, and Sanathoi added another in the 29th minute. Denish scored in the 31st minute, while Shah scored the team’s sixth goal in the 33rd. Minerva’s triumph was assured when Thiyam struck his double in the 40th minute.

Mohammad Jayed scored in the 45th minute and Rokash scored in the 47th minute to put Minerva in the quarterfinals.
