Farewell to Glory: India’s Journey Cut Short after Quarter-final Defeat to Indonesia at Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023

The Indian junior team’s run in the team event of the renowned Badminton Asia Junior Championships came to an end on Monday as it lost to Indonesia with a score of 3-1 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

With their defeat against Adrian and Felisha in the mixed doubles round (16-21, 15-21), Samarveer and Radhika gave Indonesia a 1-0 lead.

Ayush narrowly lost with a score of 21-18, 15-21, and 19-21, giving Indonesia a bigger lead.

With her outstanding performance in a dramatic girl’s singles match against Ruzana, Rakshitha Sree S revived India’s hopes. She showed incredible poise and tenacity to win with a tenacious score of 21-18, 10-21, and 23-21, breaking the tie 2-1

However, in the boys’ doubles round, Divyam and Mayank faced off against Muhammad and Joaquin of Indonesia. Despite their best efforts, the Indian team lost by scores of 10-21, 21-15, and 12-21.
