India Strikes Bronze: Triumph of the Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Team at Asian Games 2023

Anish Bhanwala, Vijayveer Sindhu, and Adarsh Singh increased India’s medal count at the Asian Games 2023 by winning bronze in the men’s rapid fire 25m pistol team event on Monday, September 25th.

Their total qualifying score reached 1718, which was remarkably equal to Indonesia. The Indian team, however, edged out their opponents thanks to a larger number of inner-10s, recording 45 ‘x’s compared to Indonesia’s 37 ‘x’s.

Vijayveer Sidhu was the team’s best scorer, with 582-18x, earning him a berth in the finals and representing India alone. Adarsh Singh’s outstanding result of 576-13x earned him in 14th place. Anish Bhanwala’s perseverance paid off with a score of 560-14x. The rivalry was undoubtedly tough, with China breaking a new world record with 1765 hits, followed by Korea in second place with 1734 hits.

Adarsh Singh’s significant development was crucial to the team’s overall success. Anish Bhanwala’s consistent shooting methods aided the squad significantly, while youthful shooter Vijayveer Sidhu demonstrated that age is just a number, demonstrating tremendous promise for upcoming events.
