Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, 25, earned a silver medal in the men’s skeet event at the Asian Games on Wednesday, September 27th, as India maintained its shooting medal blitz in Hangzhou. Anant Jeet finished the final with 58 points, two points behind the gold medallist, 60-year-old Olympic medalist Abdullah Alrashidi of Kuwait, who equaled Angad Vir Singh Bajwa’s world record of 60 points.
Anant Jeet Singh placed second on the podium to win his first individual medal in a major multi-sport event. The bronze medal was Anand’s second of the day in Hangzhou, as the men’s skeet team comprising him, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, and Khangura Gurjoat Siingh won.
Anant Jeet Singh had a flawless run in the final in his first ten series and just missed two strokes in the last five. He kept the pressure on Abdullah Alrashidi, but Anant had to settle for silver as the bronze medallist from the Tokyo Olympics would not let up.
